This time, the content respects the Brazilian carnival, which has been postponed and canceled one after another for 2 consecutive years due to the pandemic. It pays homage to carnival-related songs by expressing them with introspective and delicate sounds. The original lively song has been updated as Alexia's unique tender bossa nova/samba along with the use of a string quartet and effective sound images. The beautiful, feminine, and plump singing voice, which leaves a clean finish, is even more comfortable.
The songs recorded in are by former Nouvelle Cuisine Carlos Fernando (M2), the face of Bahia by Carlinhos Brown (M4), Pierre Ballou & Chico Buarchi's eternal masterpiece (M5), “Moho's Ave Maria” and other famous classical samba composer Eribeut Martins (M7), and famous songs by Batatinha representing Samba Baiano ( M8) and others, only the best repertoire.
The participating members include the music director Mauro Lefosco (perc) of David Byrne's “American Utopia,” the son of Baden Powell, who is attracting even more attention for his new duo with Melody Gardot, Michael Blake (sax), a former Lounge Lizards member. And this time the guest vocals are super gorgeous. The opening song is Josh Klinghoffer of the former Red Hot Chili Peppers, Hoberta Sá (M2), who is literally the top singer of modern MPB, Fernanda Abreu (M3), the leading floor samba expert, Pierre Ballou's daughter Maia Barou (M5), Ott (M6), the pioneer of samba mixture, and Kassin also participated in the production and arrangement (M7).
