Stereo Speakers
Sony's desktop radios have traditionally focused on mono speakers, but this model features stereo speakers for full stereo sound reproduction, including FM broadcasts. The speaker unit angle and internal layout have been optimized for a natural soundscape.
Bass Reflex Structure
The speaker box features a bass reflex structure, delivering rich, full bass, ensuring clear, crisp sound for music and voices.
Digital Amplifier
The digital amplifier delivers high output for a compact desktop radio, allowing you to enjoy solid sound quality and volume. (2.5W + 2.5W with AC adapter) Treble and bass can be adjusted within a ±5 range.
The slim, vertical housing makes it easy to place in a small space, and the top of the unit features a natural wood veneer finish, creating a sophisticated, elegant design.
In addition to the AC adapter, it includes a built-in lithium-ion rechargeable battery with approximately 21.5 hours of battery life (JEITA/FM). From the bedroom to the living room and kitchen, this portable radio can be easily used anywhere, for any purpose, and at any time throughout the home. The built-in lithium-ion rechargeable battery fully charges in approximately six hours.
When tuning in, the large LCD screen displays the name of the preset radio station in Japanese, based on your region setting. (It also supports displaying wide FM station names.) Five buttons allow you to register your favorite stations, allowing you to tune in with a single touch.
The digital clock features large, easy-to-read characters. The clock display can be set to 12-hour or 24-hour (with automatic time correction). The LCD backlight brightness can be adjusted between four levels (bright, medium, dim, and off) with a single button. Various timer functions are available, including a sleep timer (15/30/60/90 minutes), an alarm timer (specified time), and automatic power-off (after 15 minutes of inactivity or silence).
In addition to FM (wide FM compatible) and AM, this unit also supports Bluetooth (reception only), external audio input (stereo mini jack), and headphone output (stereo mini jack). Using Bluetooth, you can wirelessly play audio from mobile devices such as smartphones and tablets. Enjoy your favorite internet radio apps like radiko and music in stereo sound quality on your smartphone. (Bluetooth standard version 4.1, SBC codec only, pairing possible with up to eight devices, Bluetooth standby function) It also supports NFC, allowing you to connect compatible devices such as smartphones with one touch.
