Product Introduction

The prototype Reppu, developed as a successor to the Zero fighter, failed to produce satisfactory results due to insufficient engine power, and by the summer of 1944, development was in danger of being canceled. Mitsubishi decided to switch to its own in-house engine, a move they had insisted on from the beginning of development. Flight tests conducted two months later confirmed significant performance improvements, bolstering hopes for mass production. However, as the war situation worsened, these test aircraft were unable to be fully developed. Repeated air raids made it far from ready for mass production, and the aircraft remained a "phantom fighter" until the end of the war. The finished product measures 249mm long, 291mm wide, and contains approximately 84 parts. Includes a pilot figure seated in the cockpit.
