Country of Origin: Japan Hasami ware is a type of ceramic ware produced in Hasami Town, Higashisonogi District, Nagasaki Prefecture. Like the neighboring Arita ware of Arita Town, Saga Prefecture, it boasts a tradition spanning over 400 years. Each piece is hand-painted, featuring a flowing brushstroke, a testament to the craftsmanship cultivated over many years. Recommended for serving noodles such as udon, soba, and ramen, as well as simmered dishes. The heron (sagi) is a symbol of good fortune, as it is believed to be a divine messenger and a bird that paves the way. As it is hand-painted, slight variations in color and pattern may occur.
