One knob controls only the output of the circuit, so gain level and tone are adjusted with your fingers and your guitar's controls. With all the knobs turned down, you get a powerful, rich fuzz sound that sounds great when you push your amp. The Golden Fleece's internal structure is different from other one-knob fuzz pedals. Instead of relying on transistors for fuzz, this pedal uses a very specific silicon-germanium diode pair. Zach selected a very specific NOS germanium diode that gives the Golden Fleece a unique and versatile fuzz voice. There are no other internal settings, pots, or switches. The pedal's philosophy is to simply switch on your mind and play your guitar. Like many fuzz pedals before it, the Golden Fleece has its quirks. It works best when placed before a buffer. Buffers include buffered tuners, buffered effects loops, and switching systems. Buffers slow down the response and significantly change the pedal's tone. Likewise, the Golden Fleece is power and signal sensitive, so for best tone, use a high-quality isolated power supply and good quality cables. control MORE It controls the output of the pedal - the rest is up to you.
