The 9A52-2 is a Russian multiple rocket launcher developed during the Soviet era. Its nickname, "Smerch," means "tornado" in Russian. It is based on an eight-wheeled MAZ-543M truck and is equipped with twelve 300mm rocket launchers. It is exported primarily to Eastern Bloc countries and is also used in India and Kuwait.
