Himeji Castle, a national treasure, is an echelon-style flat mountain castle built by Terumasa Ikeda (built over 9 years from 1601 to 1601), and consists of a 5-layer, 6-story large castle tower and 3-story small castle tower (East Small Castle, Inui Small Castle, and West Small Castle), and each tower is connected by a double turret, making it a ``contiguous castle tower.'' The delicate and beautiful castle, reminiscent of a dancing white heron, is also known as Shirasagi Castle. It was registered as a World Cultural Heritage Site in 1993, and is known as a famous chalk castle with military and artistic features.
