The FD2 was a huge hit when it was released in 1993, and the Full-Drive3 continues its evolution as the ultimate overdrive boost pedal. With a more evolved, natural sound, it offers a wide range of tones from clean to distorted. Unlike its sibling, the FD3 uses both a JFET input and a JFET op-amp, delivering the most tube-like sound possible from a tubeless pedal. The JFET also gives the FD3 ultra-high input impedance, making it compatible with any pickup type or gain and extremely responsive to changes in your guitar's volume control. The 3-way CLIPPING toggle switch allows you to switch between the smooth, symmetrical clipping of the 1990s FD2 or the aggressive boost of pure op-amp overdrive with ample midrange, rich harmonic overtones, and sweet highs and lows.
