The stand-attached fukusa has a stand inside the furoshiki, allowing it to be used with the red side facing out for celebrations and the gray side facing out for funerals. The Hanahyakuzome colors are the result of a traditional Japanese technique passed down since ancient times, in which pigments extracted from specific plants such as flowers, grasses, and trees are painstakingly dyed over and over again.
