A Letter from an Old Friend
Professor Layton receives a letter.
The sender is Layton's old friend, Clark Triton.
The letter reports that a mysterious giant has appeared in Clark's town,
destroying the town.
Receiving the letter, Layton heads out to investigate, but suddenly a woman named Remi appears before him.
Remi tells him that starting today, she will be working as Layton's assistant.
Although Layton says he's not yet ready to hire an assistant,
he and Remi, eager to join them, decide to head to Misthaleri...
Misthaleri: The Foggy Town
Layton and Remi arrive in the town of Misthaleri and explore the town,
searching for Clark's house.
Just as the letter said, the town is filled with the ruins of buildings, likely traces of the genie's devastation.
Upon arriving at Clark's house, the pair hear the story of the town's "genie legend"
and are officially asked to investigate.
Meeting Luke, a Boy Who Predicts the End of the World
Before their investigation, Layton and Remi meet Clark's son, Luke.
However, Luke, who has closed his heart to them, presents them with a mystery and refuses to enter his room.
Layton successfully solves the mystery and meets Luke, but...
"The world is about to end..."
Luke utters these ominous words, but says he knows where the genie will appear tonight.
So Layton, Remi, and Luke head to the genie's location.
And finally, the genie appears...
Layton and the others finally witness the genie attacking Misthaleri.
Seeing Luke's frightened expression, Layton strongly admonishes him...
To face the truth, Luke resolves to confront the mystery of the genie alongside Layton...
