[Story] Two years have passed since that battle. Just as the Mako city of Midgar was recovering from the destruction wrought by Sephiroth, a mysterious disaster strikes. The disease, known as "Starscar Syndrome," continues to kill people one after another, with no cure in sight. A new enemy appears as if in response to the disease. Having lost his precious comrades in exchange for peace, Cloud, whose heart has been closed off by deep guilt, is troubled by the inevitable battle that looms before him. "Can sins be forgiven?" After a long struggle, Cloud finally decides to fight. What is the enemy's goal? Why are people falling ill? What truth awaits at the end of this battle beyond human comprehension?
