This book is a long-awaited reprint of "Basic and Complete New English Grammar" (first published in 1984, revised in 1987, published by Suken Publishing). It provides a systematic and rational approach to English grammar, and the author's perspective of "thinking about English grammar" runs throughout the entire volume. The explanations are clear and detailed, setting it apart from similar books.
The author later published the magnum opus "Modern English Grammar Lectures" (published in 2005 by Kaitakusha). While this book, which could be said to condense the content of that work, is a study guide written for high school students, it would also be an ideal English grammar book for university students, English teachers, and working adults who are serious about relearning English.
