This book introduces the charming towns of northeastern Italy, focusing on Milan and Venice. Each town's highlights are divided into sections, with detailed descriptions and recommended route maps. Another notable feature is its extensive coverage of the Lake District and the Dolomites.
The 2018-2019 edition includes the following content.
●Major Revisions●
The lead feature focuses on hiking from Merano, the ancient capital of Alto Adige, the German-speaking region of Italy.
Merano is an elegant town beloved by the Habsburgs as a summer resort. The surrounding area is home to several promenades. From the foothills, you can stroll along paths through panoramic vineyards.
This area is known as South Tyrol, where fruit cultivation and winemaking are thriving. A promenade built among the vineyards leads to Tyrol Castle. For those with strong legs, hiking through the gentle mountainous terrain of Merano 2000, which becomes a ski resort in winter, is perfect. The food at the mountain huts is also delicious.
In addition, we introduce the well-maintained gardens and palaces of Lake District towns, as well as viewpoints accessible by cable car and ropeway. We've also expanded our coverage of new attractions and hotel and restaurant information in the Veneto region's art cities of Verona and Padua.
