Biologist Dr. Grant and botanist Dr. Sattler are invited to an isolated island off the coast of Costa Rica by John Hammond of the Hammond Foundation, in exchange for financial assistance. They, along with a lawyer, a mathematician, and Hammond's two grandchildren, arrive on the island and discover a herd of dinosaurs. They are cloned dinosaurs, resurrected using dinosaur DNA from blood collected by Hammond from fossilized ancient mosquitoes. Hammond plans to turn the isolated island into a dinosaur theme park, but Grant and his team are unsure. As they tour the park, someone disables the park's safety controls, and the dinosaurs go on a rampage...
This box set compiles all three of Steven Spielberg's panic-inducing sci-fi dramas. When the films were released, much attention was focused on the realistic depictions of the dinosaurs, but as a director known for his roller coaster movies, the thrilling scenes featuring these dinosaurs are also top-notch! Huge dinosaurs crush cars, while small but ferocious dinosaurs chase humans. The second half of the film is breathtakingly entertaining, like a terrifying theme park. The dinosaurs are innocent, and humans are assailed by a nightmare created entirely by greedy humans. While entertaining, this story may also raise some eyebrows about the issue of cloning.
