This product is based on the Kiha 58 series from circa 1978 (Showa 53).
New non-air-conditioned cars have been produced for the Kiha 28 0 series, Kiha 58 0 series, and 400 series cars for long formations.
The KiRo 28 is a commercial product of an air-conditioned modified car equipped with a self-powered 4DQ engine.
The 800 series for school trips is also included in the lineup for both the Kiha 28 and 58. The distinctive window placement in the lavatory area and the school trip coloring of the car body have been accurately reproduced.
The different configurations of each series have been accurately reproduced. Details are as follows:
Kiha 58 400 series: No air-conditioning jumper plugs, and two types of end windows have been reproduced. The shutter-type front typhoon has been reproduced.
Kiha 58/28 0 series: No round window below the passenger door, and no inspection cover on the driver's cab side window has been reproduced. The slit-type front typhoon has been reproduced.
Kiha 58/28 800 series: The position of the wash window on the left side is different from the 0 series. It is reproduced in its distinctive school trip color scheme.
Kiro 28 100 series: Compared to the existing Kiro 28 (newly manufactured air-conditioned car), this model reproduces the form of an air-conditioned modified car with significantly different roof height, air-conditioning engine and intake, and cooler.
Both Kiha 58/28 cars are equipped with double-track snowplows.
The interior seats are reproduced in dark blue for regular cars and maroon for Kiro 28s.
The front display is printed with "Express" on cars equipped with built-in light units. All other cars are plain.
Only car 8 does not have a front guard, while all other cars have front guards. The through guards can be installed or removed as desired.
Safety device designation: "S"
A flywheel-equipped power unit is used to ensure stable running. There are no traction tires to allow for coupling.
Headlights and taillights, as well as the front display screen, are illuminated (with a switch to turn them off). Uses warm white LEDs. Cars 9 and 10 are not equipped with light units.
The couplers are body-mounted, self-sealing.
Included are a body support and jumper plug that replicate the air hose.
Includes stickers featuring side signs, car number signs, and type signs.
