Pit Road 1/700 Skywave Series JMSDF Destroyer DDG-171 Hatakaze Training Ship with Ship Number Decal Plastic Model J86SP
DDG-171 "Hatakaze" is a third-generation missile destroyer of the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force, completed in March 1986.
It features the relocation of the Mk. 13 missile launchers, previously located at the rear of the previous "Tachikaze" class, to the bow and the addition of bulwarks to protect them from waves.
Helicopters can be operated on the aft deck, and anti-submarine warfare capabilities have also been enhanced.
It served on the front lines until the commissioning of the Aegis destroyer "Maya" in March 2020, after which it was reclassified as a training ship (TV-3520).
It was assigned to the 1st Training Squadron at Kure Base and participated in training voyages both domestically and internationally before being decommissioned in March 2025.
