It is sometimes lumped together with other pink corals and referred to as "pink coral." It is transparent and ranges in color from whitish to pink. It tends to be a slightly bluish wisteria-like pink. There is no obvious white spot, but while the surface is pink, the color becomes whiter toward the center of the trunk. It is polished to minimize the white area on the surface, but white areas often appear on the underside.
