These are plain unit tatami mats (floor tatami mats). Simply place them on the floor to create a traditional Japanese space. This product has a simple design with a Japanese flair, while maintaining the atmosphere of a Western-style room. The colors are carefully selected to easily coordinate with your room and furniture. The outer surface is made from domestically grown (Kyushu) rush grass. Each stalk is thick, with a thick outer skin and fine fibers, making it resilient and durable. Rush grass naturally purifies the air and regulates humidity. The surface of the rush grass is also infused with Japanese cypress essence. Extracted from Japanese cypress trees in Aomori Prefecture, this essence is applied to the fabric surface using proprietary technology from the manufacturer. This cypress essence contains hinokitiol, a natural antibacterial substance. This lightweight product is easy to carry and store. The back of the mat features a non-slip joint that allows you to connect two tatami mats together. Each mat is 70cm square, so you can use it with a rug by adjusting the size to match.
