In the "Power of Architecture" series, Toyo Ito, Riken Yamamoto, and Terunobu Fujimori examine the problems facing architecture and explore how to interpret it and its possibilities. In the first of the series, Terunobu Fujimori engages in dialogue with six groups of young architects he has his eye on. What motivates architects to create today? How can we deviate from the "transparent white box" of modernist architecture? And what signs does Fujimori see at the end of the dialogue as the beginning of 21st century architecture? At the end of the book, there is also a three-way discussion with Toyo Ito and Riken Yamamoto. Six works by the young architects are featured with photographs taken by photographer Fujizuka Mitsumasa.
