About Shikekinu Silk: Silk thread is typically spun from a single cocoon produced by a single silkworm. However, on rare occasions, two silkworms produce a single cocoon, resulting in a unique knotted thread called dupionito. The silk that weaves this dupioni thread into the weft is called "tsumugi silk." It is characterized by its beautiful luster and unique texture with knots. Shike silk was stored for a long time because it could not be used as wallpaper due to minor scratches, and in response to a producer's desire to somehow reuse it as a resource, KOKUYO collaborated with the producer to make it into a commercial product.
