The Mercedes-Benz 300 SL, nicknamed "Gullwing," debuted in 1954. Its high performance and attractive form, incorporating the mechanisms of a prototype sports car that had performed admirably in a 1952 race, quickly captivated celebrities worldwide. The multi-tubular space frame, among other features, was cutting-edge racing technology at the time. Because the frame was located on the body's side, conventional side-opening doors were not possible, so gull-wing doors were adopted out of structural necessity. Furthermore, the body was transformed from the sleek, low-resistance prototype form into an elegant design befitting a luxury sports car. Known as one of the fastest cars ever, equipped with the world's first direct-injection inline-six gasoline engine producing 215 horsepower, it remains the envy of fans today.

Experience the assembly process just like the real thing. ●The sporty and elegant style is faithfully reproduced. ●The distinctive gull-wing doors can be opened and closed, and can also be fixed in the open position. ●The engine hood can also be opened and closed. Even after completion, you can tilt it 45 degrees to the left to view the inline-six engine. ●Nylon mesh is used for the front intake. ●Minor surfaces and logos feature metal transfers. ●Tires are made of solid rubber for a textured look.
