Product Introduction
In an internal combustion engine using a spark plug, a high voltage of 20,000-35,000V is required to generate a discharge in the combustion chamber during the compression stroke.
An ignition coil is a type of transformer that converts 12V battery voltage into the high voltage required for spark plug discharge.
It basically consists of a primary coil, a secondary coil, and a core (iron core), and the case is filled with epoxy resin to ensure insulation between these components.
*If the following symptoms occur, the ignition coil may be worn or malfunctioning.
- The engine speed does not increase during acceleration.
- The engine is difficult to start.
- Unstable idling.
- The engine check lamp (MIL) is illuminated.
Replacing the ignition coil can restore smooth driving performance.
- Stable idling.
- Improved fuel economy.
When replacing the ignition coil, we recommend replacing all cylinders.
If a malfunction is discovered in one cylinder, the ignition coils in the other cylinders may also be deteriorating and may soon fail, so we recommend replacing all cylinders.
When replacing the ignition coil, we also recommend checking the spark plugs.
Continuing to use worn spark plugs will increase the voltage required and put greater strain on the ignition coil.
This may cause a malfunction, so please also check the spark plugs when replacing the ignition coil.
