Product Introduction
Pit-Road 1/700 Skywave Series U.S. Navy Amphibious Command Ship LCC-19 Blue Ridge 2004 Plastic Model M55
The Amphibious Command Ship Blue Ridge was commissioned in November 1970 to provide integrated command and control for increasingly complex amphibious operations.
To avoid radio interference, a high-freeboard, aircraft-carrier-like hull design based on the Iwo Jima-class amphibious assault ship was adopted.
Homeported in Yokosuka as the flagship of the 7th Fleet since October 1979, this ship is the oldest active U.S. fleet at over 50 years old and is scheduled to remain in service until 2039.
