Product Introduction
The Tokiwa replenishment ship was commissioned in March 1990 as the second Towada-class ship.
In 1991, following the Gulf War, the ship participated in the Self-Defense Forces' first overseas deployment, supporting the Persian Gulf minesweeping force.
Since then, it has engaged in numerous missions, including replenishment support in the Indian Ocean and disaster relief in the wake of the Great East Japan Earthquake.
It is currently part of the Escort Fleet's 1st Replenishment Squadron, and is based in Yokosuka.
