Description
[Kurume-ori Samue]
This is a purely domestically produced, pre-dyed samue woven in our own factory.
Until recently, samue was considered a specialized type of kimono for Buddhist monks. Kurume-ori samue has evolved into everyday wear suitable for the general household. Production began in the latter half of the Showa era, a time when few people wore them as everyday clothing. However, thanks to its manufacturing capabilities, including dyeing, weaving, and sewing, its high quality gained a reputation and it was sold nationwide.
The Kurume-made brand and its reliability have led to repeat purchases from many fans, including many overseas. It is a favorite of a wide variety of people, including monks, Japanese restaurants, inns, martial artists, potters, writers, painters, and calligraphers.
*Kurume-ori samue woven after dyeing is generally referred to as pre-dyed. Many plain fabrics imported from overseas are piece-dyed (white fabric dyed afterwards) for greater production efficiency, and many of them have poor colorfastness. As a result, if you wash them and hang them out in the sun, they may become sunburned and immediately become unwearable, or the wash water may become cloudy. The durability of the inherent color of a dyed product is called colorfastness. (Various JIS standard tests are conducted and the result is displayed on a scale of 1 to 5, with 1 being the lowest and 5 being the highest.) This product has been verified to meet grade 4 or above (dry friction), which is sufficient for cotton fabrics, so you can wear it with confidence. [Material] 100% Cotton [Country of Origin]
