35 years after the release of the original DW-5000C in 2018, the GMW-B5000, featuring a full-metal case and a Connected Engine, is being released. Based on the concepts of "evolved exterior," "evolved structure," and "evolved module," the GMW-B5000 features a full-metal case and bezel made of hard stainless steel and an ion-plated finish for vibrant color. Available in two models: black and gold. This time, the case and band feature a hairline finish, bringing out a more luxurious and sophisticated metallic texture. The inverted LCD panel adds a chic touch to the watch. The base model, the GMW-B5000, features a redesigned hollow structure, a core G-SHOCK technology, for improved shock resistance. A fine resin buffer is sandwiched between the metal bezel and the main case, creating a new shock-resistant design that can withstand even a full-metal case. The band attachment section, where it receives the most impact, utilizes highly shock-resistant ROGAMID, reducing impact on the band attachment pipe. The watch also features a solid screw-back case, with a DLC back for superior abrasion resistance. A focus on clear visibility has been placed on the watch, with a film solar cell and an STN-LCD (liquid crystal display) that makes the time display easy to read even from an angle. High-density packaging technology allows the watch to maintain its size while retaining the watch's refined design. The exterior and module have been further improved. In terms of functionality, this watch is designed for precise timekeeping, featuring Bluetooth communication and Multiband 6, which supports time calibration signals from six stations around the world. By connecting with the dedicated G-SHOCK Connected*1 app, it obtains accurate time information from an online time server. In areas where time calibration signals from six stations around the world are available, the watch automatically adjusts the time and maintains accurate time. Casio's proprietary Tough Solar technology ensures stable operation, while other features include a high-brightness, full-auto LED backlight, and World Time. It also supports localization with a day of the week display in six languages*2. This watch represents a legitimate evolution in pursuit of global basics, ensuring accurate timekeeping anywhere in the world. While retaining the concept inherited from the original model, the GMW-B5000GD boasts refined exteriors, structure, and modules for superior timekeeping quality, and a full-metal case.
