Voltage Compatibility】
When using electrical appliances, please note that they are designed for Japanese voltage specifications (90-110V), so if you use them with a different voltage, it may cause a malfunction.
【Plug Type】
Our products use Japanese plug types (A or B type).
Please use a conversion adapter if necessary.
【Important Note on Transformers and Adapters】
A transformer adjusts voltage to match your device’s requirements.
A conversion adapter only changes the plug shape and does not adjust voltage.
Using only a conversion adapter without a transformer may result in damage to the product.
【Liability】
We are not responsible for malfunctions or damages caused by improper use, such as operating the product without a transformer.
Easy to Carry and Lightweight: When folded, it measures approximately 49cm long and weighs less than 300g. It's compact enough to fit in a tote bag! Yet, when unfolded, it measures approximately 97cm in diameter! It provides ample protection from both rain and sunlight. It has a luxurious ferrule and can be placed in an umbrella stand. When folded, it can be quickly stored using the thick umbrella strap.
[UV Protection/Light Blocking] 99.9% UV protection and 99.99% light blocking. Tested by a Japanese testing institute. 100% light blocking is not possible, so the actual blocking is as close as possible. The black coating also blocks UV rays reflected from the ground. Prevents UV rays from being scattered around the face.
[Shields against heat above 20 degrees] To prevent heatstroke. It's like carrying shade with you.

[Japan Foundation's "Contemporary Japanese Design 100," under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs] This project selects 100 representative products of modern Japan, and the Short Wide Umbrella was selected as an umbrella that contributes to the SDGs. SUGITA's Short Wide Umbrella is the only umbrella to be selected! It will be exhibited at Tokyo Midtown from May 20th to 28th, 2023, and will then be exhibited in 35 countries around the world. For that period of more than 10 years, the Short Wide Umbrella will be touring the world.
The short wide umbrella was developed by Sugita Co., Ltd., a long-established umbrella manufacturer with over 80 years of history. Long umbrellas are too long and get in the way, and folding umbrellas are a pain to fold, small, and get wet. The short wide umbrella addresses these concerns. SUGITA has acquired the design patent.
