Hamilton Women's Leather Watch American Classic Ardmore H11221514
Brand Introduction
Hamilton was established in 1892 in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. The brand first gained recognition with the Broadway Limited pocket watch, which served as a precise tool for train schedule accuracy. In 1914, Hamilton was appointed as the official supplier for the United States Army Air Service and began providing timekeeping services for ski competitions and the U.S. Post Office in 1919. By the 1930s, Hamilton watches were used by many airlines as their official timepieces. During World War II, although public sales were temporarily halted, the brand manufactured nearly one million military watches. In 1970, Hamilton introduced the Pulsure, the world's first digital watch, and was acquired by the SSIH group in 1977. In 1983, it became part of the SMH group and is now a brand belonging to the Swatch Group.
