Hordeum vulgare, a common but beneficial grain grass, is highly regarded by many herbalists as one of the highest quality bulk herbs for many complaints. Similar plants such as barley grass and wheat grass are classified as grains, but have an interesting characteristic in that when they first sprout, they are more like vegetables.
