Product Description: Irradiation-Free Kosher Certified Frontier® Nutritional Yeast is made from Brewer’s yeast, a single-celled organism that grows on sugarcane and beet molasses. The yeast is harvested, washed, sterilized, and then “deactivated” by drying at high temperatures. Because it is inactive, it does not have the same leavening effect as baking yeast, but it is a good substitute for seasoning and dairy-free cheese. Nutritional yeast adds a savory, slightly cheesy flavor to soups, gravies, sauces, or egg-free scrambles. Nutritional yeast powder dissolves quickly, making it especially good for creamy and cheese sauces. Our bulk nutritional yeast powder is Kosher Certified and has never been exposed to irradiation.
