Kasama ware has been around for about 250 years, during the Yasunei era of the Edo period, and the molding, glazing, and firing techniques of that time have been passed down to the present day. This product is a shinogi, which is handcrafted one by one to create ridgeline patterns by scraping the surface of the vessel with a tool such as a spatula. The ridge lines created by scraping the surface create a three-dimensional look. By using a non-glossy matte glaze, the mug retains its charm but does not have a rough texture, creating a mug that feels stylish even though it is inorganic. Mukaiyama Kiln (Kasama City, Ibaraki Prefecture) "Kasama ware" was founded in the Yasunei era (1772) of the Edo period, and the feudal lord at the time, Sadanao Makino, worked to promote it, and has developed while passing on the molding, glazing, and firing techniques of that time to the present day. Mukoyama Kiln is able to do things because it is “handmade”, things it can do because it has “skills”, and things it can do because it is an “organization”. More than 10 potters and 5 traditional craftsmen create pottery in our in-house workshop, demonstrating their individuality at all times. We also employ a large number of potters who create pottery from the user's perspective while handcrafting it.We also have 6 kilns, large, medium and small, and use them according to the content of the creation, so even when customers order tens of thousands of pieces, we are able to maintain our organizational strength.
This pottery is unique in that it can flexibly provide high-quality products and services.
