Designed specifically for kick drums (and other high SPL applications) Designed, assembled and tested in California Vintage tone equipped with a large 34mm diameter diaphragm "K47" capsule. Carefully selected NOS audio components K47 style capsoule high SPL compatible studio condenser microphone "Mini K47KD" is a microphone newly developed for high SPL applications, based on the popular mini K47 and using the same capsule. As the model name KD indicates, it is ideal for recording not only kick drums, but also toms, bass amps, and brass sections. Normally, in order to create a microphone with high SPL specifications, a large capacitor is used in the input stage to incorporate a pad, but this can also cause distortion. Instead, the Mini K47KD re-designs the circuit and adjusts the internal voltage to ensure headroom in ways other than additional attenuation. This allows us to maintain sufficient headroom and dynamic range while maintaining clarity and attack. Like all Roswell microphones, it is manufactured in-house at our California headquarters and tested before shipping. The Mini K47 KD comes with Roswell Pro Audio's exclusive Cutaway shock mount, microfleece microphone cover with the Roswell Pro Audio logo, and an aluminum flight case.
