The long-awaited 2nd album by Davi Fonseca, a pianist/singer/composer who is attracting attention in the Brazilian Minas music scene that produced Antonio Loureiro and others!

■The jazz/instrumental music scene in Minas Gerais, Brazil, has recently sent out talents that resonate with the global jazz scene, such as Antonio Loureiro and Rafael Martini, led by world-class masters such as Milton Nascimento and Toninho Horta. Among them, it is Davi Fonseca (Davi Fonseca Fonseca) that is said to be the next break inevitable.

■When Loureiro and his colleagues also graduated from the Minas Federal University with a bachelor's degree, they immediately had a unique presence in the indie scene in the state capital Belo Horizonte. They have performed not only with local Minas musicians such as Rafael Martini, Alexandri Andrés, and Louisa Brina, but also with old and new musicians representing Brazil, such as Elsa Soares, Retierz Leitch, Monica Salmaso, Rueji Luna, and Pedro Martins.

■The 1st album “Piramba” was released in 2019. It is a content where complex compositions and universal songs typical of Minas's new-generation musicians coexist, and when it received rave reviews both inside and outside of Brazil, it succeeded in making a strong impression on its name, such as recording unusual sales for an imported CD here in Japan. Since then, this is the first new work in about 5 years.

■As many as 21 musicians active in Belo Horizonchi participated in the album, and each song was recorded in a different arrangement. Songs where complex rhythms and plots coexist with universal melodies and tones are unique to Fonseca, which has a deep connection with the history of Brazilian music in both singing and instrumental music. All 8 songs, where guests with rich personalities, such as Shangai, Artur Padua, Isa, and Louisa Brina, add color to it, will bring a fresh experience to those who listen to them.
