Product introduction
When it comes to stringed instruments that symbolize classical Arabic music, it's definitely oud. The oud, from which the Sassanid Persian instrument “barbat” is said to have originated, is already known as a “long-lived instrument” with a history of over 2000 years. One such famous performer who is currently highly regarded around the world is Doris El Maloumi, a musician from Morocco. He presented notable new works from the Belgian label “Contre-jour”, which is known for various works by Malian musician Aviv Coaté. The solo album “Aswat” since “Makan” (Contre-jour) in 2013 was announced in 2023. Here, you can also enjoy performances where the two Oudes interact, instrumental numbers where oud plays the main theme with Arabic percussion such as Duff, Dalbucca, and Reg in the background, and melodic ensembles with female vocals added.
