A cool, spiritual ensemble with Afro-Brazilian percussion and vibraphone. A remarkable Brazilian jazz work of a different type, which is cool yet has a supple vitality, has been released. It is a work similar to Lorenzo Hevechs' “O Colpo de Dentro,” which became a hot topic, but what is definitely different about this work is probably its introspective worldview, which I sometimes want to describe as spiritual. By pursuing the booming energy of Afro-Brazilian percussion in a cool way, it is finished in a work that is both cool and supple. (C) RS
