Pirastro GmbH
Pirastro's roots lie in Giorgio Pirazzi, a string maker invited from Italy by Count Eisenberg in 1798. Pirazzi opened a workshop called "Giorgio Pirazzi & Filli" on the outskirts of Frankfurt. In the 1890s, his descendant Gustav Pirazzi welcomed Theodor Strobel as a new co-owner, and the company was named Pirastro after the two men. Although the company suffered heavy losses during World War II, the Pirazzi family worked hard to rebuild and expand the business. The company has two major brands: Obligato and Eva Pirazzi, named after the owner.
They manufacture various types of strings for stringed instruments that are currently used, including gut strings, synthetic strings, and steel strings. They incorporate the opinions of professional players from the development stage, and have satisfied many players.
