book introduction
Recently, as the number of foreigners residing in Korea has rapidly increased, it has been openly argued that Korea has entered a multicultural society. And to support this, the terms multicultural family, multicultural family, and multicultural education are frequently used. In fact, it has become common to see immigrants who have come from abroad and become members of our society around us. The multicultural society that naturally emerged as the number of immigrants increased in our society must be a change of the times that realizes dreams and happiness for everyone.
In this book, over the past 10 years, the author has visited the field of Korean language education for immigrants, pondered over the main issues of Korean language education for immigrants, and talked with government officials who formulate and implement Korean language education policies for immigrants. It is a compilation of articles published in academic journals based on the experiences and knowledge gained during the discussion.
As the articles written over the past 10 years are collected, there are some statistics and names that do not fit the current situation, and over time, the results of the discussion will change. Others have already been revealed. However, given that the discussion was conducted at a time when the number of immigrants increased, it would be helpful to understand the overall trend.
