The SANGEAN ATS-909X is widely regarded by the amateur radio community as the best portable shortwave radio. The second-generation ATS-909X2J refines the excellent features of the original model while also making significant functional improvements. The patented 5-level automatic bandwidth control debuts on the 909X platform. It automatically selects the optimal bandwidth according to the SNR, ensuring reliable reception of weak signals while delivering the best sound quality. There is also an option to manually adjust the bandwidth, allowing you to fine-tune the sound to your liking. The ATS (Auto-Tuning System) automatically scans for radio stations on the SW, MW, LW, and FM bands and saves the station with the strongest signal as a preset station in up to 1674 memory slots (each of the three memory banks stores presets for 441 SW/45 airband/36 FM/27 MW/9 LW bands). The included reel antenna (up to approximately 7m) significantly improves signal reception. Supports single-sideband (SSB) USB/LSB 10 or 20Hz/fine-tuning steps. The squelch level function allows you to adjust the reception threshold and filter out unwanted broadcasts and interference. The rotary tuning knob makes tuning and setting adjustments easy. By rotating the wheel and pressing the Enter button, you can tune the radio 10 times faster. The battery compartment of the ATS-909X2J can detect battery abnormalities when charging with an AC adapter. Abnormalities will be displayed on the screen and indicated by the bay number.
