VOX Compact Guitar Amplifier AC4HWR1 Hand-Wired Vintage 1960s Reproduction Reproduces Vintage Sound

[Product Description]

Vintage instruments are traded at high prices not only because of their rarity but also due to their characteristic sound. The AC series has been produced with almost the same circuitry since the 1960s, and vintage units are said to have a rich, musical tone that is difficult to replicate. This time, VOX has unraveled the secrets of that sound and aimed to make it accessible today. Based on thorough research of the power supply circuit, output transformer, and cabinet thickness, the AC-HWR series delivers a vintage sound reproduction. As the first release in this series, we introduce the compact combo amplifier AC4HWR1.

- Analyzed and studied actual units from the 1960s. The results are consolidated in the AC-HWR series. - Measured the power supply circuit of the vintage AC30 and designed a new power supply that closely approaches its characteristics. - Uses a custom transformer tuned to produce vintage sound. - The cabinet uses slightly thinner wood similar to the vintage AC series, achieving a warm and expansive midrange sound. - Equipped with spring reverb, FX loop, and speaker output.
