Freight Trains In Hokkaido

This publication commemorates 150 years of freight rail transport. Hokkaido's freight trains deliver agricultural products, including onions and potatoes, throughout the country. They also carry a variety of daily necessities from Honshu, supporting the lives of Hokkaido residents. 2023 marks the 150th anniversary of the start of freight train operations in Japan and the 100th anniversary of the start of freight car shipping on the Seikan Ferry.
