Kyo-yaki Kiyomizu-yaki is one of Kyoto's most representative traditional crafts. Its origins are said to be due to the many kilns, including those of Kiyomizu Rokubei and Takahashi Michihachi, located around Gojozaka, the approach to Kiyomizu-dera Temple. The translucent blue hue adds a touch of texture to the white crystalline glaze. This elegant sake cup harmonizes beautifully with the soft curves of its body.
