Japanese Synonymous Expressions and Usage Points: Considering the Intention of Expression

This is a new type of guide that addresses the differences between synonymous expressions, a topic that can be confusing for Japanese language learners. It considers them not only from the perspective of differences in form and meaning, but also from the perspective of the speaker's "expressive intention" (how the speaker is trying to express their feelings, opinions, and perceptions).

Synonymous expressions are divided into 44 categories, mainly based on functions such as "will" and "desire," and a total of approximately 600 expressions are covered.

The book is divided into two parts. Part I compares and explains multiple synonymous expressions, allowing you to think about the differences between them and how to use them as you read. Part II provides concise summaries of the meanings and example sentences of each expression, making it useful for when you just want to know the key points.

This book is not only useful as a teacher's reference for instructing learners, but it also allows learners themselves to organize the differences between synonymous expressions they have learned so far and apply them in real situations.
