I wouldn't place nything heavy on the shelfs. It sways just taking the weight of a coffee mug. I'm sure it CAN hold the weight of the water jugs shown in one of the pictures, but I won't place anything heavy and breakable on it. It feels unsafe. But it was easily put together and it fits where I wanted it.
